Waiting for the Third Shoe to Drop

They say bad luck always happenes in threes. This is the second consecutive night in which I've had some major unlucky inconvenience happen.

Last night after making a deposit, I forgot to take my ATM card back. Fortunately I was on empty and stopped to get more gas on the way home. I went to go swipe my debit card at the pump, only to notice that it was gone. I booked it home, borrowed my fiance's debit card, and ran back to the ATM, hoping that noone else had been there. No such luck. So I had to again book it home (after getting gas) and call in my card as stolen. Then I had to wait until this morning to request a new one. Five to seven business days, great. Not as bad as the seven to ten that I had feared, though.

Then tonight, as a was chewing the remains of a mostly sucked cough drop, I noticed a little too much crunch. I found the offending forgein object, and it was exactly what I had feared: a piece of tooth. I checked in the mirror and noticed  a big chip from one of the sides of my bottom teeth, all the way down to the dentin. Great. Now I have to call the dentist after I go to my Upton address to check my mail to make sure that my dental insurence card came in. This is just what I need right now, just as I thought I was recovering financially. Hopefully they can just fill it rather than crown it. If they have to crown it, I'm screwed.

So I'll be on guard tomorrow night for not just the other shoe to drop, but the third one. I can't wait.
